Now, I apologize for the pictures, because I wasn't going to take any pictures because I still hadn't found my camera cord. Until I was cleaning out "the closet"!!! Yeah ME!!! So here are some pictures of EVERYTHING that was in "the closet".
NOTHING was in boxes or totes. I was able to put everything in
a total of 3 totes, 7 boxes, and few items went into the appropriate bags.
Hint: Tennis rackets are allowed to go IN the tennis bags. :)
My desk was pilled with junk. This wasn't even the worst of it.
(This is where I found my camera cord!)
That is when I started taking pictures.
Now please remember before you start looking at the next few pictures, my goal was to do this without spending any money. While everything was out of the room, I did paint it a soft gray, but I already had that in the basement just waiting for a room to call it's name. Hopefully, sometime in the near future this room will actually get decorated, but I would like to do my bedroom first :)
And LOOK at this! My futon is uncovered and can actually be used! Okay, futons are sad items, but at least we do have a place for a single company to sleep...
Hey, we are recently married and are broke, so don't judge me people, because I am SO proud of myself and everything that I was able to accomplish :)
Thanks Traci for motivating me!
Hi Heidi-
ReplyDeleteI am in super organizing mode and can't wait till all my junk is in it's place or tossed. My rooms look like yours - piles with boxes.
I know how hard it is to find the time to blog. I work full time also and blog when I get home. It doesn't leave much time for other things.
I am trying to find the balance, but it is hard even on a good day.
You should feel very accomplished with all that you are trying to do. I remember when I was first married and wanted to decorate our house. I was so proud of a new lamp I bought. A few days after buying it I was cleaning and accidently knocked it off the table and it broke. I cried and my hubby didn't understand. I had to explain how hard I was trying to get the house decorated and with the lamp broken my efforts were not going the right direction. Keep at it - before you know it you will see the difference.
Thanks for tip about the Beneath My Heart Linky. I think that will be very inspiring this time of year.
My best- Diane
Thanks Diane for the encouragement, and to let me know that I am not the only one that is going through/went through the first time home buying part of life. I am very excited for the home to come together though!
ReplyDeleteYou sweet thing! :)
ReplyDeleteI am so glad you have been motivated by me. Actually...it's me being motivated by you (my readers!) I would never do anything like this before I had my blog. You guys inspire me. Thanks for joining in the fun!
Can't wait to see what you are working on.
xoxo

You did really great! I'm so glad you are getting inspired to organize! If you ever need any more inspiration...feel free to come over for a visit and I hope to inspire you more! Keep it up - I'm sure your hubby will be happy, too!
